Dorothea Kent, PhD

Academic Program Manager

I’m a clinical research professional passionate about improving patients’ quality of life across a range of diseases. My work has investigated body composition changes from acute hospitalization to recovery in individuals with anorexia nervosa, alongside pancreatic function testing in newborns with cystic fibrosis and healthy controls in Sydney, Australia.

I am now part of Dr. Lai’s research team at UCSF, focusing on enhancing well-being and outcomes for patients with liver disease and those awaiting liver transplantation.

I received my degree in Nutritional Science and subsequently completed a Doctorate in Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Bonn, Germany. As part of my training, I undertook an internship at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, Australia, where I also carried out both my master’s and doctoral research in partnership with the University of Bonn, Germany.
